Preserving Reason Farms for future generations

Save Reason Farms is a community-centered preservation effort dedicated to protecting Reason Farms and the Phillip Road Site from industrial development that would permanently alter one of Roseville’s meaningful remaining rural landscapes.

Our purpose is simple: protect the land, preserve its story, inform the public, and encourage civic action before an irreplaceable place is lost.

Reason Farms is more than open land. It is part of Roseville’s local heritage, rural character, environmental setting, and community identity. The site is connected to the Pleasant Grove Creek watershed and sits near neighborhoods, schools, parks, trails, and areas where families walk, bike, commute, learn, and gather.

Today, the Phillip Road Site faces proposed private development for industrial and so-called “innovation” uses, including an AI data center. Save Reason Farms exists to help residents understand what is at stake and why long-term preservation is the better public-interest outcome.

Our Mission

Save Reason Farms works to protect Reason Farms through public education, preservation advocacy, civic participation, and transparent access to information.

We believe communities make better decisions when residents have access to clear facts, public records, environmental information, planning history, media coverage, and meaningful opportunities to participate.

Our mission is to:

  • Preserve the history, rural character, and public significance of Reason Farms.
  • Protect the Phillip Road Site from incompatible industrial development.
  • Share documents, news, public comments, and research in a clear and accessible way.
  • Encourage residents to participate in local decision-making.
  • Support long-term stewardship of land, water, wildlife, and community quality of life.

Why Reason Farms Matters

Reason Farms represents a lasting place in a fast-changing region.

Preservation is not only about protecting land. It is about protecting memory, identity, environmental context, and the shared sense of place that communities carry forward. The live Save Reason Farms site describes this work as preserving a meaningful piece of community history and keeping attention on a property with cultural and historical meaning.

The Phillip Road Site also raises broader public-interest concerns. Industrial development in this location may affect traffic, air quality, water quality, water availability, wildlife, neighborhood character, and the peaceful suburban/rural setting of the Reason Farms region.

That is why Save Reason Farms focuses on more than opposition. We focus on preservation, transparency, education, and responsible civic engagement.

What We Stand For

Responsible land use

The Phillip Road Site is not an isolated industrial parcel. It is near homes, schools, parks, recreational areas, and community travel corridors. Save Reason Farms advocates for land-use decisions that respect surrounding neighborhoods, public health, environmental resources, and Roseville’s long-term quality of life.

Environmental stewardship

Reason Farms is connected to the Pleasant Grove Creek watershed, and the archived site specifically identifies water flowing across the farmland through Pleasant Grove Creek as a defining feature of the property. Protecting this landscape means paying attention to water, habitat, open space, and cumulative environmental impacts.

Community health and safety

Residents have raised concerns about diesel truck traffic, air pollution, congestion, noise, hazardous materials, greenhouse gas emissions, and safety for children, seniors, cyclists, pedestrians, and nearby neighborhoods. Save Reason Farms helps keep those concerns visible in the public record.

Public transparency

Public decisions deserve public scrutiny. Save Reason Farms supports informed civic participation by sharing documents, media coverage, public comment letters, updates, and research resources so residents can better understand the issues and participate effectively.

Preservation for future generations

Once a place like Reason Farms is industrialized, its rural character, environmental setting, and historic meaning cannot easily be restored. Our work is rooted in the belief that future generations deserve the chance to understand and benefit from this landscape.

What We Do

Save Reason Farms helps the community stay informed, organized, and engaged.

We:

  • Publish updates about the Phillip Road Site and related preservation efforts.
  • Maintain access to documents, public comment letters, media coverage, videos, and research resources.
  • Share educational information about why Reason Farms matters.
  • Encourage residents to speak up, submit comments, attend public meetings, and follow the decision-making process.
  • Build public support for long-term protection and thoughtful stewardship.

Our role is to make information easier to find, easier to understand, and easier to act upon.

A Community Effort

Save Reason Farms is powered by the belief that residents have a meaningful role in shaping the future of their community.

Whether you are a neighbor, parent, cyclist, student, environmental advocate, local business owner, longtime Roseville resident, or someone learning about Reason Farms for the first time, your voice matters.

Preservation succeeds when communities stay informed and involved. Save Reason Farms exists to help make that participation possible.

Our Vision

We envision Reason Farms protected as a lasting community asset rather than converted into incompatible industrial use.

We envision a future where Roseville’s growth is thoughtful, transparent, and respectful of neighborhoods, natural resources, public health, and local history.

We envision Reason Farms remembered not as a missed opportunity, but as a place the community chose to protect.
